5 arrested for alleged abuse of policewoman

Five men, one of them said to be a soldier, have been arrested for reportedly abusing and disrupting the duties of a woman Sub Inspector attached to the Kataragama Police.


The SI had been on her beat at the town yesterday (May 01st), when the suspects in civics had accosted her, an official of the Kataragama Police told 'Lanka Dissent.'

They were due to be produced before courts.

Meanwhile, SSP Tangalle Neil Daluwatte said that the Military Police was investigating to ascertain their identities.
