Pillayan Group encamps in Panama

A group from the Pillayan led-TMVP is establishing two camps around 100 metres away from the ‘Okanda Devalaya’ of Panama, using child soldiers under 15-years of age, area residents say.

Two buses and several vans carrying the necessary equipment had reached the site yesterday (May 07th).

Area residents said the Pillayan group has forbidden outsiders from entering the area, adding that they heard the sound of gunshots from the vicinity in the night.

Speaking to ‘Lanka Dissent’, JVP MP Wasantha Piyatissa confirmed that the armed group was encamping in the Panama area.
